In today’s world, it’s very easy to become immersed in the negativity and stress that seem to dominate our lives. It’s much harder to focus on the beauty and goodness that’s all around us. My wish is for everyone to leave the real world behind every now and then and become inspired.”
Irene Morgan Braun.
Demonstrating artistic talent at a young age, it wasn’t until much later in life that Irene Morgan Braun found herself on the path to success as an artist.
A gift, from her husband, of canvas and watercolor paints and brushes (and his boundless support and encouragement) took her life in an exciting and unexpected direction.
It’s easy to explain the vast popular appeal of her art. Filled with intriguing subjects and exquisite detail, the moments she captures on canvas ‘speak’ to people everywhere and on a universal level.
Her subjects are varied, but are united by a common thread ~ they connect with the viewer in a way that sparks an emotional response.
Reactions to her art is as unique and varied as the art itself. Some appear reflective, some smile, some experience a warm childhood memory, some just admire a piece of our natural world. Most are amazed that her work is watercolor and not photographs.
Irene works almost exlusively in watercolor and she says that never chooses her subjects, but rather they reach out to her. It might be a single vibrant hibiscus blossom, a tiger cat with an attitude or children captured doing whatever it is that interests them at the moment.
This award-winning artist continues to create in her studio in coastal Georgia. She’s commited to sharing her talent and enthusiasm for art by teaching children’s art classes and workshops.
She hopes to leave behind a legacy of beauty and meaning.
